Broadcom Inc. is an American multinational technology company based in Irvine, California that designs, develops and supplies semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions for data center, networking, broadband, wireless, storage and industrial markets. Its products include Wi-Fi access point system-on-chips, Ethernet switching and routing silicon, optical and copper physical layer transceivers, custom touch controllers, PCI Express switches, industrial fiber optic modules, motion control encoders and LED components. Most of its sales are generated in Asia Pacific markets. In late 2023 Broadcom acquired VMware, a provider of multi-cloud services for enterprise applications.
