Progress Software Corporation is an American public company founded in 1981 as Data Language Corporation in Burlington, Massachusetts and is now headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts under the leadership of CEO Yogesh Gupta. It produces software for creating, deploying and managing enterprise business applications. Founded by MIT graduates Joseph W. Alsop, Clyde Kessel and Chip Ziering, Progress went public in 1991 and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker PRGS. Its service offerings include application modernization, data management and managed database services, performance enhancements and tuning, and analytics and business intelligence. Its products are generally sold as perpetual licenses, with certain products offered under term licensing and its cloud-based offerings delivered via subscription.
